Dr. Denise Gotchall

Prior to starting Agler Consulting, I had the privilege to serve as a counselor for 21 years. During that time I was chosen to present five times at the Ohio Counseling Association annual meeting, and twice at the American Counseling Association annual meeting.

I have been an adjunct professor at John Carroll University, and continue teaching as an adjunct at Walsh University’s Deville School of Business. My plan is to be a lifelong learner and to promote the learning organization wherever I may work.

My formal education includes a Ph.D. in Organizational Systems and a Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Development. I am also trained and certified in biofeedback. Additionally, I am certified to administer the Emotional Competency Inventory (ECI), which is a 360 review of competency areas that measure self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social management. To further support the interpretation of the 360, I took part in Leadership through Emotional Intelligence training at Case Western Reserve University. In May 2014 I completed the Mindfulness for Professionals training at Duke University's Integrative Medicine Program. The Duke program had an impact on my being chosen as a presenter at the OBTC national conference in 2016. Leaders in organizations and academics both appreciate the significance of mindfulness in daily interactions.

I derive great joy and energy in facilitating training for organizations of all sizes. My experience and personal training have equipped me to conduct focus groups and to develop the subsequent reports that emerge from those groups. I see leadership skills involving not only strategic initiatives but the ability to build authentic relationships. New certifications that allow me to provide even more facets to training sessions include Add Heart Facilitation, Yoga, and Reiki. All of these techniques help bring mindfulness into everyday interactions, as well as build and improve relationships through a variety of avenues. In 1998 I had the unexpected opportunity to lead a brunch session for the Business Week CFO Conference at Amelia Island, Florida. This once again reaffirmed my belief that it is ultimately “man’s humanity to man” that moves the world.
